Our guests can enjoy many activities right here, on the premises of Riverbend Bed & Breakfast.
Summer Activities:
- Kayak rentals available for Chena River float trips.
- Walk along the Chena River on a beautiful nature trail
- Fish for seasonal king salmon or arctic grayling
- Pick from a variety of surrounding wild berries
- Barbeque and picnic tables provided for outdoor cooking and dining.
Winter Activities:
- Guided Snow Machine Tours offered by owners. Explore the frozen Chena River and Yukon Quest sled dog trail.
- Ice Fishing – gear available at Riverbend.
- Northern Lights Viewing – Watch the lights dance overhead from your cabin’s second story balcony. Our location provides an unobstructed viewpoint, free from light pollution.
- Cross Country Skiing - Experience cross-country skiing on the frozen Chena River or nearby groomed trails. For more information on skiing in Fairbanks check out the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks.

- Soak in the Healing Waters of Chena Hot Springs – The waters at Chena Hot Springs Resort were discovered over 100 years ago and became famous for curing gold prospectors of their aches and pains.
- Dog Mushing with Paws for Adventure – Experience a historic form of Alaskan transportation and take a guided dog sled tour with an experienced trainer and guide.
- Enjoy an Evening of True Alaskan Entertainment – Dine at the world famous Alaska Salmon Bake. Take a stroll through Pioneer Park’s Gold Rush Town. Head to the Palace Theatre and enjoy the performance of “The Golden Heart Revue”, a collection of musical comedy sketches. - UAF Aurora Forecast – The UAF Geophysical Institute’s Aurora Forecast website is great for planning your winter trip to Fairbanks for the best view of the Northern Lights.
- Santa Claus House, North Pole – Travel just a few miles to the Santa Claus House where you can purchase an authentic deed to one square inch of North Pole property or order a personalized letter from Santa to send to a loved one at Christmas.
